Pixel FuzzingSome days ago I watched a talk of Dan Kaminsky about Pixel Fuzzing and the Bioinformatic Bindiff. It was a talk on the 23rd Chaos Communication Congress.
It's about how you can make hex data visible and how you will be able to remember them. That's a nice idea if your ssh doesn't tell you the fingerprint of another host but print it visually. It is possible when you turn on VisualHostKey yes in OpenSSH >=5.1.
Enjoy the talk. :-)
WantedYesterday I watched together with my girlfriend at cinema the movie Wanted.
It's an action film with
Angelina Jolie. The content
is shortly described: It's all about shootings and a lot of special effects.
There is a young man who should have recruited to a
fraternity. But he saw the reality
different. In the end everything becomes clearer.
The Guardian wrote about the movie:
"In an ideal world, the title would have the word 'Not' tacked on to the front".
There is nothing to add. ;-)
21
Two days ago I was in our local cinema to watch
the movie 21.
It is based on a true story of the MIT Blackjack Team.
Students of the MIT went to casinos to play there blackjack and to count probabilities of
cards*. So they made a lot of money in Vegas.
It was a nice movie with a very good and interesting story. It fascinates me much that
it is based on a true story.
The other point is, that it was the first time that I was in our local cinema. It is a really
sweet and small one. It was a nice evening together with my girlfriend. It was fun
to watch the film.
The WaveSome time ago I was in the cinema together with Astrid and watched the movie The Wave. It is based on the social experiment The Third Wave, which has been done in 1967 on the Cubberley High School in Palo Alto.
The main question is:
"Is another dictatorship in Germany again possible now?"
There is a teacher and his pupils in a project week and they are supposed to work together
on the topic autocracy.
It begins as a little game between the teacher and the pupils but soon everybody
loses control of the experiment. It becomes clearer and clearer that a dictatorship
is also possible in the present.
It's a great movie about that topic. You feel a little bit involved into the plot. I'm happy that I saw The Wave.
Today I saw Apple advertisement movies. They are really funny. They compare a PC with a Mac.
If you are interested in a Mac you should also read why you will love it.
The Day The Routers DiedI cannot get this video out of my head. The melody is really cool and the text is so fantastic. I could have a look at it the whole day. It's unbelievable. The story is about the problem of IPv4 and why we should switch to IPv6.
GroundingYesterday I saw the movie Grounding. It's about the last days of Swissair and how Mario Corti tried to help the company. Beside the normal story of the financial problems you get information about the people behinde Swissair.
The movie explained in a very detailed and interesting way how the Swissair was forced to stop flighting (grounding).
The Good ShepherdOn Tuesday I watched together with Astrid The Good Shepherd at the cinema in Erfurt. It was amazing.
The seats there were really really awesome. The movie is about the history, repective the beginnings, of the CIA. There is a really young CIA agent which is involved in different operations - for example the Bay of Pigs Invasion of Cuba in 1961. And about his love to some women and to his son, who also go the CIA later.
It's a movie about the deal with
information and
disinformation; about the truth, the trust; about friendship and enemy.
And about how this special CIA agent (called "mother" by the Russians) handles this big game.
The movie is really worth to be seen.
United 93The movie United 93 is about the United Airlines Flight 93 on its way from Newark, New Jersey to San Francisco. It shows the story of the skyjacked aircraft how it passed its way on September 11, 2001.
It's a docudrama about the four terrorist attacks in the USA. It's very dramatical and really emotional but interesting nevertheless...
A Space OdysseyOn last tuesday Astrid and I were together in our campus cinema to watch the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey (information our cinema has got (German)).
It's a about an abstract view of the past, the present and the future of all lives. But the whole story cannot be told in one sentence... but it is really worth to be seen and the future in the film looks somehow beautiful. The technique seems unimaginable complex - and there is an AI in the movie called HAL - which has got in the end of the film the whole power (almost).
The story is a little bit long and sometimes a little bit emtpy. But the effects are great (old, but great) and the decorations and sets of the story were marvelless.
All in all it was a nice evening together with Astrid in the real world. And the moon shined so bright....
ElementarteilchenJust because of a very spontaneous idea of Linette we went this night into the movie Elementarteilchen (elementary particles).
It's a german movie about a france book. The topic is very easy, it's about sex - everywhere and at any time. I don't know the book, but the film is very strange at this point. There is almost no action but a lot of emotions and senseless talks. But it has got a nice spirit somehow...
It was a very nice night at the auditorium nevertheless.*gg*
Today I saw a Walt Disney film: Tron (amazon link)
It's a movie about users, their programs and the master control program (MCP). This film was created in 1982 but is still very cool.
Tron (short form of electronic) is a security program which has the power to fight against the MCP. It is really worth to watch this movie.
Today I saw again Avril Lavigne's Try To Shut Me Up tour - Buffalo NY concert 2003 - My World (DVD).
And I still wonder how much this woman rocks the house. I can feel every of her thoughts and her feelings in her songs (even if they are a little bit old). Futhermore I love her styling, her impressions and the way she told her stories very much.
After this session I realized that everybody who loves a skater girl must be a lucky person...
This day I saw another movie at the cinema: The Da Vinci Code - Sakrileg.
It was a free presentation only for teachers in our town. But as long as I am a free guy, I used my chance to go to this presentation and have a look at this lovely movie with Tom Hanks as one of the main characters.
The story wasn't too bad: There were many thesis about the church, Jesus and his relationship to Mary Magdalene and Opus Dei.
The film is a non-historical film, but it was very good to think across of our current point of view and our view of the world, our history and our belief.
The best movie I saw for a long while...
Today I saw a movie of Otto Waalkes - 7 Zwerge - Männer allein im Wald.
It's a movie that relates to the story of the
Brothers Grimm.
Many german comedy stars play a huge of characters in this movie. It's very funny
and a very good way to relax and just be entertained.
Enjoy it.
